Memorial Day: Remembering our fallen heros

Our fallen: A roll call of Northeast Georgia veterans who lost their lives in foreign wars since World War I:

In honor of Memorial Day 2009, the Athens Banner-Herald dedicates its front page to a list of veterans from our coverage area who lost their lives in this country’s foreign conflicts since World War I.

Since last year, we have added four names to our list, including World War II — John Allen of Madison County, Fred Little of Hall County, Andrew Marlowe of Hall County, and Frank Robertson of Athens.

Compiled by The Associated Press, the Georgia Department of Veterans Services and reader contributions, the list — although as accurate as records show — might not be complete.
